Private detective/wizard-for-hire Harry Dresden is suckered into tangling in the affairs of Faerie, where the fate of the entire world-and his soul-are at stake.

It has been a while since I spent time with Harry. Glad to get back. Another action packed, hard to put down, book. Lots going on but still a lot to be resolved. Looking forward to getting caught up with the series.

Driven to Ink (Tattoo Shop Mystery #3) by Karen E. Olson

Driven to Ink (Tattoo Shop Mystery, #3)Driven to Ink by Karen E. Olson

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Brett Kavanaugh is a tattoo artist and owner of Vegas's hottest tattoo shop, The Painted Lady. And in her spare time, she does some sleuthing. After discovering the corpse of a Dean Martin impersonator-sporting a spider web tattoo and a clip cord from a tattoo machine wrapped around his neck-Brett infiltrates That's Amore, a drive-through wedding chapel, as a bride-to-be looking for the mark of a murderer...

Had a harder time getting into this book than I did the previous couple. Overall it was an enjoyable read. Almost too much going on, but it all came together in the end. I do like the path that Brett and Jeff's relationship is taking.

Kiss of Death (Morganville Vampires, Book 8) by Rachel Caine

Kiss Of Death (The Morganville Vampires, #8)Kiss Of Death by Rachel Caine

My rating: 5 of 5 stars
~~~~~
Vampire musician Michael Glass has attracted the attention of a big- time producer who wants to cut a demo and play some gigs-which means Michael will have to enter the human world. For this, he's been assigned escorts that include both a dangerous immortal as well as Michael's all-too-human friends. And with that mix of personalities, this is going to be a road trip from hell...
~~~~~

I always enjoy reading about the newest trouble that Claire and friends get into. They finally get a taste of freedom and of course end up in the middle of a war. Great storyline. We actually get to see Oliver show some humanity. I really enjoyed this book and very much look forward to the next in the series.

Grimspace (Sirantha Jax #1) by Ann Aguirre

Grimspace (Sirantha Jax, #1)Grimspace by Ann Aguirre

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

~~~
As the carrier of a rare gene, Sirantha Jax has the ability to jump ships through grimspace-a talent which makes her a highly prized navigator for the Corp. Then a crash landing kills everyone on board, leaving Jax in a jail cell with no memory of the crash. But her fun's not over. A group of rogue fighters frees her...for a price: her help in overthrowing the established order.
~~~

At first I was not sure that I liked the author's writing style, but the more I read, the harder it got to put down. Ended up totally loving this book and look forward to reading more about Sirantha and March as well as their adventures.

The World at the End of Time by Frederik Pohl

The World at the End of TimeThe World at the End of Time by Frederik Pohl

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

~~~~~
"Frederick Pohl succeeds where others wouldn't even dare..."
The Denver Post
Wan-To was the oldest and must powerful intelligence in the universe, a being who played with star systems as a child plays with marbles. Matter occupied so tiny a part of his vast awareness that humans were utterly beneath his notice.
The colonists of Newmanhome first suffered the effects of Wan-To's games when their planet's stars began to shift, the climate began to cool down, and the colony was forced into a desperate struggle to survive.
Viktor Sorricaine was determined to discover what force had suddenly sent his world hurtling toward the ends of the universe. And the answer was something beyond the scope of his imagination -- even if he lived for 4000 years...
No I remember why I love Sci-fi so much. This was a great science fiction story. I loved how the two main characters' stories (Wan To - the godlike plasma being and Viktor the human being originally from Earth)were told simultaneously but separately. Very thought provoking!!
Firestorm (Weather Warden, #5) by Rachel Caine
Firestorm (Weather Warden, #5)Firestorm by Rachel Caine
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
~~~~

Putting aside the personal chaos that has plagued her, rogue Weather Warden Joanne Baldwin must rally the remnants of the Weather Warden corps against a double threat-the Djinn who have broken free from Warden control, and a cranky Mother Earth who's about to unleash her full fury against the entire world.

Another good chapter in Joanne, Weather Warden's life. This book was a little chaotic. A lot going on between Jo and David's relationship, their daughter Imara, the fight with the Djinn, Mother Nature waking up, and the end of the world. It almost got to be too much, but with another cliff hanger of an ending I want to keep reading the series. I am going to take a short break while I read some other books I owe, but will be back to the Weather Warden series very soon!

Windfall (Weather Warden #4) by Rachel Caine

Windfall (Weather Warden, #4)Windfall by Rachel Caine

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Weather Warden Joanne Baldwin's stormy personal life is taking its toll on her patience-and her powers. But when the truce between the Wardens and the mystical Djinn starts to self-destruct, Joanne finds herself forced to choose between saving her Djinn lover, saving her Warden abilities-and saving humanity.

Wow! What a life Joanne leads. I am so happy that I have this entire series on my bookshelves. Each book seems to contain a action packed week in the life Of Joanne, Weather Warden. I don't know what I would do if I had to wait 6 months or a year to see what happens next. Loving this series and am off to the next book!
