Ghost Town (The Morganville Vampires #9) by Rachel Caine

Ghost Town (The Morganville Vampires, #9)Ghost Town by Rachel Caine

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

While developing a new system to maintain the town's defenses, genius student Claire Danvers discovers a way to use the vampires' powers to keep outsiders from spreading news of Morganville's "unique" situation.

But when people in town start forgetting who they are-including the vampires-Claire has to figure out how to pull the plug on her experiment before she forgets how to save herself...and Morganville.

It has definitely been too long since I paid a visit to Morganville. Interesting story line this time around. I like the way that Claire, Shane, Michael and Eve came together even when they could not remember their history together. Like the way that things are evolving with Amelia, Oliver and even Myrnin. Overall another great adventure in Morganville.

Kiss of Death (Morganville Vampires, Book 8) by Rachel Caine

Kiss Of Death (The Morganville Vampires, #8)Kiss Of Death by Rachel Caine

~~~~~
Vampire musician Michael Glass has attracted the attention of a big- time producer who wants to cut a demo and play some gigs-which means Michael will have to enter the human world. For this, he's been assigned escorts that include both a dangerous immortal as well as Michael's all-too-human friends. And with that mix of personalities, this is going to be a road trip from hell...
~~~~~

I always enjoy reading about the newest trouble that Claire and friends get into. They finally get a taste of freedom and of course end up in the middle of a war. Great storyline. We actually get to see Oliver show some humanity. I really enjoyed this book and very much look forward to the next in the series.

Fade Out (The Morganville Vampires, #7) by Rachel Caine

Fade Out (The Morganville Vampires, #7) Fade Out by Rachel Caine

Without the evil vampire Bishop ruling over the town of Morganville, the resident vampires have made major concessions to the human population. With their newfound freedoms, Claire Danvers and her friends are almost starting to feel comfortable again...

Now Claire can actually concentrate on her studies, and her friend Eve joins the local theatre company. But when one of Eve's castmates goes missing after starting work on a short documentary, Eve suspects the worst. Claire and Eve soon realize that this film project, whose subject is the vampires themselves, is a whole lot bigger-and way more dangerous-than anyone suspected.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Totally enjoyed this seventh book in the Morganville Vampires series. I really enjoyed Claire's further development into a young woman as well as her developing relationship with Michael.
The storyline was great, loved learning more about Myrnin and Ada, as well as Amelie and Oscar's relationship.

I am really looking forward to the next in the series!!

Carpe Corpus (The Morganville Vampires, #6) by Rachel Caine

Carpe Corpus (The Morganville Vampires, #6) Carpe Corpus by Rachel Caine

In the small college town of Morganville, vampires and humans lived in (relative) peace—until all the rules got rewritten when the evil vampire Bishop arrived, looking for the lost book of vampire secrets. He’s kept a death grip on the town ever since. Now an underground resistance is brewing, and in order to contain it, Bishop must go to even greater lengths. He vows to obliterate the town and all its inhabitants—the living and the undead. Claire Danvers and her friends are the only ones who stand in his way. But even if they defeat Bishop, will the vampires ever be content to go back to the old rules, after having such a taste of power?

Another wonderful jaunt in Morganville.

In this book Claire and friends find themselves caught up in the middle of the war between Bishop and Amelie. The fate of Morganville depends on the outcome of this war and Claire has her part to play in that outcome. I can't go into much detail without giving everything away, but it was a nice quick read. We do finally get an ending and not a major cliff-hanger, which makes it a lot easier to wait till the next book is released in November.

Lord of Misrule (The Morganville Vampires, Book 5) by Rachel Caine

Lord of Misrule (The Morganville Vampires, Book 5) Lord of Misrule by Rachel Caine

The feast is over ... and the battle for Morganville has begun. Bishop's on one side, Amelie's on the other, and Claire's status as Amelie's most trusted human ally has just landed her on Morganville's Most Wanted list, along with all of her friends. As a bitter Texas storm bears down on the town, there's nowhere to hide ... from anything.

Well since I was expecting this to be a cliff hanger I can not say that I am surprised. But I do have to say that I hated the ending, but I loved the excerpt from the next book.

I really wish that I had saved this series of books and then read them back to back. I am sure that I would have enjoyed them more. That being said I do enjoy this series and I am looking forward to reading more. There is no question that the books are action packed. I just wish that they lasted longer. It is like getting a taste of something really good and then having to wait 6 months for another little taste. lol

Oh well -- I love the residents of the Glass house and can not wait to read more!

Feast of Fools (The Morganville Vampires, Book 4) by Rachel Caine

Feast of Fools (The Morganville Vampires, Book 4) Feast of Fools by Rachel Caine

From the Publisher

The wait is over. dig into the feast...

In the town of Morganville, vampires and humans live in relative peace. Student Claire Danvers has never been convinced, though—especially with the arrival of Mr. Bishop, an ancient, old-school vampire who cares nothing about harmony. What he wants from the town's living and its dead is unthinkably sinister. It's only at a formal ball, attended by vampires and their human dates, that Claire realizes the elaborately evil trap he's set for Morganville.

So when does the next one come out? How can authors end books like this and make us wait?

Great chapter in the story of the Morganville Vampires. This book takes right up where the last one leaves off. It takes a little bit to get going but when it does, wow!!

A new Vamp comes to town, Bishop -- Amelie's father. He is on a mission and it is up to Claire and her friends to help stop him from destroying Morganville and everyone in it.

Excellent story and I can not wait for the next book to come out!!!

Midnight Alley: The Morganville Vampires Book 3 by Rachael Caine

From the Publisher
Claire Danvers's college town may be run by vampires but a truce between the living and the dead made things relatively safe. For a while. Now people are turning up dead, a psycho is stalking her, and an ancient bloodsucker has proposed private mentoring. To what end, Claire will find out. And it's giving night school a whole new meaning.

My Opinion
This was probably my favorite of the three books so far.

This book takes up right where the last left off. Claire has signed the contract with Amelie to protect her friends. But they don't know yet.

This book really centers around Claire and her involvement with the vampires. There is a lot happening as we learn more about the vamps, as well as the humans. The ending is quite the cliff hanger and I can not wait for the next book in the series to come out.

Morganville Vampires #2: The Dead Girls' Dance by Rachel Caine

Synopsis
Claire has her share of challenges. Like being a genius in a school that favors beauty over brains; homicidal girls in her dorm, and finding out that her college town is overrun with the living dead. On the up side, she has a new boyfriend with a vampire-hunting dad. But when a local fraternity throws the Dead Girls' Dance, hell is really going to break loose.

My Opinion
Another great book in this series. It started out a tiny bit slower than the first book but it picked up right away and became the 'can't put it down book' that the first one was as well.

Love the characters and the problems that they face. I totally enjoy the storyline and can not wait to read the next one in the series which I started last night.

Claire is becoming quite the heroine and I can not wait to find out what it is that is so special about her. Eve's brother is scary. Love Sam and now that Michael has joined the dark side I can not wait to see how that all works out.

Glass Houses: The Morganville Vampires, Book I

From the Publisher
From the author of the popular Weather Warden series. Welcome to Morganville, Texas.

Just don't stay out after dark.

College freshman Claire Danvers has had enough of her nightmarish dorm situation, where the popular girls never let her forget just where she ranks in the school's social scene: somewhere less than zero.

When Claire heads off-campus, the imposing old house where she finds a room may not be much better. Her new roommates don't show many signs of life. But they'll have Claire's back when the town's deepest secrets come crawling out, hungry for fresh blood.

My Opinion

Excellent book.

Claire is a super smart 16 year old Advance Placement College student at a college in Morganville, Texas. Besides having to deal with the typical college freshman hassles like dorms and mean girls, she discovers that she also has to deal with an entire town of vampires.

Lucky for her she happens upon the Glass House and it's three tenants, Michael Glass, the 18 year old owner of the house, his best friend Shane, and their goth roommate Eve, when she goes off campus to find a safe place to live.

Thanks to a particularly vicious college girl who has set her targets on Claire, the four roommates find themselves in the middle of a vampire battle that they may or may not come out of alive.

Loved the story and looking forward to starting on #2: The Dead Girls' Dance next.
